Snowflake Computing Uplifts the Level of Security in Cloud Data Warehousing
FREMONT, CA: Snowflake Computing, a firm dealing with cloud data warehousing, introduced new features and third-party validations to enhance the built-in security associated with cloud data warehousing. The features also include support for HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996) compliance and a partner integration. The solution effectively eliminates the complexity associated in securing data; offering customers the opportunity to entrust crucial data to the Snowflake Elastic Data Warehouse.
"With organizations increasingly looking to the cloud, security has become a focal point of today's data storage conversation and concern," comments Bob Muglia, CEO, Snowflake Computing.
Snowflake’s new features indicate the fact that security in the cloud can meet the demands of the customers. The company ensures that customers can safely move data to the cloud by developing highly efficient end-to-end security into its data warehousing service and offering secured encryption. It also enables the customers to utilize the Snowflake service to develop their analytics without the hurdle of securing their data environment.
The company’s systematic approach involves innovative features such as multi-factor authentication, federated services, automatic key management, intrusion detection, role based access, dedicated instances and always-on enterprise grade encryption.
With an intention of assisting customers to integrate the Snowflake security involving a broader application environment, Snowflake has also signed a partnership with Okta, a provider of mobility and identity management for the mobile and cloud enterprise. The alliance allows Snowflake customers to utilize Okta's federated authentication services, promoting their own authentication mechanism within the Snowflake service.
"Okta and Snowflake have worked together bringing their extensive knowledge to enable customers to securely connect users and applications with data in the cloud. Rather than worrying about how to build a secure solution, customers can take advantage of our deep expertise delivering the secure data warehouse as a service," says Ryan Carlson, Okta CMO.
